Overview

Many Chicago cafés have paid WiFi connections. A very popular network for these cafés is WebBeams, which you can subscribe to for over $20 per month. However, we recommend Boingo, which is $10 a month, and with which you can roam on all of these WebBeams networks, as well as all Starbucks locations - and just about any airport. It's a pretty good deal, and you may even buy a few less coffees every month for having it.

South Loop

  • The place for sitting is a completely different storefront from where you order your coffee. You order your coffee from the storefront that has the ornate cakes, and you take your coffee over to the lounge next door.

  • Paid WiFi (WebBeams. You have to subscribe - it's not pay-per-use. You can roam using Boingo here)
  • Two outlets up front. Some more in the large table towards the rear.
  • Really nice back patio (which is table service after 4pm) and a front patio.
  • Serves sandwiches, salads, pastries, soup, and ice cream
  • Open pretty late: 11pm (may only be summer hours?)
• Sweet Cakes Bakery (935 N Damen Ave.)
  • Free WiFi (but it's very finicky. Sometimes can't connect just because I'm using Safari)

  • Odd hours. Usually only open until 6pm.
